Product Summary


Turbo-WBS is a chrome-free lignite derivative designed to provide improved filtration control and stabilize rheological properties in high temperature water base muds. Turbo-WBS was developed based upon a new lignite derived resin. It is compatible with most water-based drilling mud additives.

Recommended Treatment


High Temperature (above 250°F): 6-10 ppb.

Wellbore Stability Benefits


  • Effective emulsifier in oil-in-water muds and will provide some emulsification and dispersing properties for liquid lubricants.

  • Can be used to stabilize salt-contaminated muds.

  • Particularly effective as a high temperature filter loss additive in water
    base mud systems.

  • Highly effective HTHP water loss reduction results in thin, tough, lubricated filter cake development

  • Can be used to disperse hydrocarbonbased lubricants in water base muds.

  • Decreases borehole erosion, washouts and key-seating tendencies.

  • Reduces BHA balling problems.
